Induct-A-Ring Shaker | Unholtz Dickie

The UD Induct-A-Ring armature utilizes a solid metal cylinder (ring) as the moving coil, with approximately 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) wall thickness. The force-generating AC currents in the IAR single turn coil are produced by induction, thus eliminating the need for current-carrying linkages between the armature and the shaker body .

By comparison, conventional shaker armatures have a wound coil that's epoxy bonded to the armature. During high G-level operation, this attached driver coil is subject to mechanical failure. It is an accepted fact that conventional driver coil armatures are not well suited for high-G SRS testing. The UD Induct-A-Ring armature solves this problem.
